Hello My Name Is Kirtyka. I'm 28 years old from Chicago.

Hello, I was diagnosed with A.D.D in 5th grade. I didn’t learn til the How To ADHD channel was made that I actually had ADHD instead of ADD like I was told back in 5th grade. I’ve been managing my symptoms without medication. I was put on medicine when I was younger but I dnt remember what effect they had on me besides gaining weight. I was quickly taken back off the medicine and haven’t took anything for ADHD in years. I overcompensate with daily tasks because of my ADHD and it gets tiring sometimes. I’m resilient though. I try to make sure I get often sleep to have the energy to deal with my ADHD.

Hi Kirtyka,

I think it’s great that you can manage your ADHD without meds! A proper amount of sleep is a must, meds or not (I woke up at 3:30 this morning, so I am feeling that today). I have been taking Vyvanse for about 4 years now. I am 54, diagnosed at 48 (but my wife was certain I had it years before that).
