Inktober accountability

Tomorrow will be Oct 1st, aka the start of inktober ( and ADHD awareness month!!! ) and I really want to stay consistent this year!! So I thought here might be a good place to ask for help :yum:
Does anyone else do inktober? Any advice?
I thought about doing an accountability-buddy type thing but I don’t know how that would work out
Thanks in advance!!

I didn’t know it but this thread is exactly what I needed! Let’s try and keep each other honest by posting here, too!

It’s day 1 and I’m already late but I came home late for work and I always go out for drinks on the first Tuesday of the month but somehow I managed to squeeze this in.

I’m unsure if you’re aware of this, but your link is to a porn website…

I just read it and saw that it’s about art… I’d happily support you and could use some accountability but with studying, at least that’s what I need to do on my end!

I can definitely help keep you accountable with studying!!
And yeah it’s about art  the whole point is to consistently practice a skill set ( key word being consistent lol )

Sorry about that, it was supposed to be a Tumblr link. I’ll be more careful with htose.

No problem, I thought I might’ve been an accident

Nice picture!! I like his glasses

I left my sketchbook at home so I’ll upload today’s/yesterday’s later. I’m trying out a new pattern this year, where I set a timer for 10 minutes to work and after that I’m done. This way I don’t end up cramming before bed time lol

I love seeing people hone a thing that makes them happy or that stirs their soul. I’d be super happy if you used this thread to post your stuff.
I have a friends who do inktober every year and I love seeing their work in my facebook feed.

Sorry I haven’t posted my stuff yet y’all!! I had a question about location services so they should be up once that’s answered :slightly_smiling_face: what will probably happen is I’ll have a bunch to share after my trip

How’s inktober going for you @themax
And @Assynj how’s studying?

@ConfusedbutADHDandLD No need to apologize or feel bad about that. I personally really like adding accountability in a way that just makes you want to do the thing more. Like “hey I want to have art to share with the tribe because they’re kinda excited for it.” I find that a much better approach than to make people feel guilty about not having done a thing. We all have had enough people be upset at us for not getting things done so in my opinion there is no need for that here.

Go @ConfusedbutADHDandLD! We believe in you! You can do the thing! Wooot!

Thats so sweet of you to check in - I wasn’t sure if I was going to leave this thread to just the artsy folks.

Tried my best to study for the past 3 days, since I have a short break I promised myself to do at least 3 hours everyday to catch up. Unfortunately, somehow, my days just haven’t been working out that way… I’m struggling a bit with things not going to plan.

I’m about to try again now though!

Studying was hard for me too, one of the things a brain friend taught me was to swap subjects when one gets frustrating and then cycle back through them.

It’s something I’ve done for years now without knowing I was a brain.

Welp, studying hasn’t been working out the way I’d hoped so I took some time to switch and engage my brain differently. I came out the other side with something I’m proud of - even though it’s not what I’m meant to be doing…

(and in true ADHD fashion I didn’t finish it, of course  )

I didn’t know it but I really needed to hear that, thanks

Procrastination can be a superpower too if you can harness it. Sometimes I will do just about anything to avoid doing what I’m supposed to be doing Right Now so I toss other tasks that need to get done anyway under the procrastination bus and it steamrolls todo items that aren’t do yet… but it does sometimes gets me in trouble.

Also Yay! Art! Gorgeous!

I really like your way of turning that into a positive, it’s true!

Hey y’all!!! Sorry I haven’t been posting ( I may or may not have lost my phone…in a different town :joy: )
@Assynj that’s amazing!!! Did you manage to study some more after drawing?
@BackwardsThinker I really like the idea of cycling through subjects! I’ve found that I’m more productive that way, the only drawback being that I sometimes forgot to finish a subject :grimacing:

Haha! Not going to lie, I was getting very slightly worried since I think we’re all used to seeing your name pop up. That is a pretty decent reason though. Glad everything turned out okay and you got your phone back?

Aww thanks  and yeah, everything turned out ok. I left it in my backpack which had the very welcome surprise of soda when I opened it again!

I haven’t really been using the prompt list for inktober, but it’s been weirdly freeing?? I mean I love the list but taking a break definitely helped
This is probably the last drawing I did that I actually spent time ok ( aka hyperfocused :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: )

There’s a couple others but I literally scribblered for about 5 seconds so they’re not great. These last 2 are the most current that I’ve gotten to work on, for some reason I’ve really been loving freckles lately :upside_down_face:
