Should you talk to someone with ADHD in a calm, positive, easy going way ?
I would say that in general it’s appropriate to approach anyone wiht the calm, positive, easy going manner for conversation. If you know the person has ADHD you can go in knowing some of the struggles they may have with attention and focus. Keep statements shorter. Watch for visual cues such as if the person keeps looking away or appears distracted. Ask if the person heard you or ask them to repeat or summarize what you said. Also, ask how their ADHD is today and if they’re in a place to have a conversation.
I think it is a good idea to talk to all people that way too!
